Our re-opening update

In light of the situation brought about by the COVID-19 virus, our co-owner Gary Neville announced on social media that both Stock Exchange Hotel and, GG Hospitality owned, Hotel Football would be closing to ensure that the welfare of both guests and staff were safeguarded at all times.

In the same announcement, Gary Neville also spoke on the decision that we would be accommodating NHS healthcare workers and medical professionals free of charge, both here at Stock Exchange Hotel and Hotel Football. This was in order to provide them with a comfortable place to stay if they needed to isolate themselves from friends and family that showed symptoms of the virus. This enabled them to remain safe and continue their great work during this challenging time. Throughout the pandemic, across both hotels, GG Hospitality have accommodated 300 NHS key workers.

Following the government announcement on the 23rd June that the hospitality sector will slowly start to re-open from the 4th July, GG Hospitality have taken the decision that the doors to both Stock Exchange Hotel and Hotel Football will stay closed for a little while longer so we can continue to support the incredible NHS workers we have been housing for the last 4 months until they no longer require a place to stay.

Our Stock Exchange team is working towards re-opening date of 28th August, however there may be a number of events in the run up to this date in order to test new protocol and ensure the correct practices are in place to make guest experiences safe and comfortable.

GG Hospitality CEO and Stock Exchange co-owner, Winston Zahra, explained, “As a company we felt that it was the right thing to do to continue looking after the NHS front liners. We will be preparing our properties and continue to train all our team in the rigorous COVID-19 related safety protocols in the weeks ahead and are very much looking forward to welcoming our guests back to the hotels at the end of August. In the meantime we would like to thank all the volunteers, companies and the wider community for the support we have received during these past months.”

Even though our doors are not officially open, members of our Stock Exchange sales and commercial teams have returned to the business to deal with any guest enquiries and drive as much business as possible as we head towards our re-opening date.
