Heritage

The Manchester Stock Exchange was built between 1904 and 1906, designed by “Bradshaw, Gass and Hope” and was opened ceremoniously on the 13th December 1906. The stunning example of Edwardian Baroque architecture, with its original marble, brass and woodwork, has been carefully restored to breathe new life into one of the city’s most historically symbolic institutions.

Tender may technically be a hotel restaurant, but that description doesn’t really do it justice – this is destination dining with serious wow factor.

Set within the former trading floor of Manchester’s Old Stock Exchange the restaurant makes the most of its old bones. A vast domed roof, grand arches and chunky marble pillars give the space instant impact, a reminder of what the building used to be long before it became somewhere to sit down for dinner.

Yet, for all its grandeur, it feels surprisingly relaxed. You can cosy up with your dining companion(s) in the curved leather booths around marble tables, cocooned in warm lighting from the brass table lamps surrounded by plenty of trailing greenery. The result feels luxurious but easy going – more elegant indoor garden than former trading floor.
